Sample Personalized Career Development Plan for a 6-month coaching package.

Month 1: Assessment and Goal Setting

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the client's skills, experience, and current situation.
  • Identify her career aspirations and set realistic but ambitious goals.
  • Begin working on mindset shifts, addressing limiting beliefs about earning potential.
  • Assignment: Exercises to help you shift your mindset to one of abundance and gratitude.
  • Homework: Self-reflection exercises.
  • Journaling: Themes of abundance and gratitude.

Month 2: Personal Brand Development

  • Develop a personal branding strategy
  • Create or update LinkedIn profile (I will help you with this).
  • Start building a professional network.
  • Become a thought leader in the areas you want to be known for.
  • I will count on you to identify in-person networking events in GA and ask you to follow a list of people on LinkedIn.
  • Homework: Identify networking events, informational interviews, posts.
  • Create a list of people to follow on LinkedIn.

Month 3: Resume and Cover Letter Overhaul

  • Completely revise and optimize your resume.
  • Create templates for customizable cover letters.
  • Teach you how to tailor applications to specific job postings.
  • Homework: Research target companies and positions you would like to work for.

Month 4: Job Search Strategy

  • Develop a targeted job search strategy.
  • Teach you effective job search techniques and use of job boards.
  • Homework: Apply to at least 5 positions per week, focusing on quality versus quantity.

Month 5: Interview Preparation

  • Begin interview skills training.
  • Practice common interview questions and techniques.
  • Work on body language and confidence in interview settings.
  • We will conduct up to 3 mock interviews this month.
  • Homework: We will conduct up to 3 mock interviews this month Optional: Conduct mock interviews with friends or family.

Month 6: Salary Negotiation

  • Advanced interview techniques (STAR method, behavioral questions).
  • Prepare for different types of interviews (phone, video, panel).
  • Develop strategies for addressing gaps or weaknesses.
  • At this point, you should be confident enough to learn how to interview the interviewer.
  • Homework: Research and prepare questions to ask interviewers.

Month 7: Salary Negotiation Skills

  • Teach salary research techniques and tools.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and scripts.
  • Practice salary negotiation scenarios.
  • Know your market worth and negotiate your salary.
  • Homework: Research salary ranges for target positions.

Month 8: Professional Development

  • Identify skills gaps and create a learning plan.
  • Explore relevant certifications or courses.
  • Develop a strategy for continuous learning.
  • What new skills do you want to learn?.

Throughout the entire process

  • Bi-weekly check-ins to monitor progress and provide support.
  • Ongoing mindset coaching to build confidence and self-worth.
  • Regular review and adjustment of goals and strategies as needed.
